Led by Maddie Weikel, "Reciprocity, Relationships, and Responsibility in Nurturing the Soil Food Web" is a workshop that explores our relationships to food systems gleaned from her studies of Indigenous conceptions of reciprocity and experiences as a farmer’s apprentice and Jewish farmer. We discuss some basics on the soil food web and reflect on soil as a partner in the network of relationships among living and nonliving beings. You’ll leave the workshop with the knowledge that practicing care for land and soil is embodied in practicing care for each other.
