About Us

Farm2Power is a diverse collaborative utilizing mutual aid funds to support BIPOC-run community farms, provide fresh produce to Angelinos in need of food support and redistribute resources back into our community.

Our goal is to support BIPOC farm collectives that are most heavily exploited by big corporations through fairly compensating them for their produce. This not only helps alleviate the food waste crisis, but also distributes free food to our Los Angeles community. We specifically aim to center groups marginalized by the effects of capitalism, racism, transphobia, xenophobia, and the prison industrial complex in our outreach and distribution efforts.

Our Mission Statement

  1. Farm2Power acknowledges and works to remedy the disproportionate effects of COVID-19 and the climate crisis on BIPOC and other marginalized individuals.

  2. We believe that everyone has a right to fresh and nutritional food.

  3. We believe that the farmers and workers who work tirelessly to provide us with food deserve relief, support, and compensation.

  4. We believe in food sovereignty, the right to choose what food to eat, where it comes from and how it is grown.

  5. We believe that the people have been neglected by the state in its inaction to ensure that no one goes hungry.

  6. We believe it is essential to use privilege and access to subvert oppression.

Our Goals

To aid and uplift the movement towards food sovereignty

Help to switch food system to a direct farm to consumer based model

To disrupt the current monopolizations of Big Agriculture, which takes money away from both the consumer and producers of food

Center groups marginalized by the effects of capitalism, racism, transphobia, xenophobia and the prison industrial complex

Provide food to families experiencing food insecurity

Support the redistribution of wealth and resources
